I had a client of 82 years that was to have five front teeth removed, and she was allergic to narcosis and claimed anesthesia did not work with her. She was also very nervous about the whole thing. I put her in a lighter trance 40 minutes in advance, in the dentist chair, and used Trauma Tapping in the face, to sensitize her for the touch of the dentist. I then used the Hands On Anxiety Management (HOAM) induction and deepener – that I have develop for dentist chairs together with Fredrik Praesto – which got her pretty well deep and down and instructed her body to receive the anasthesia and as long as she listened to my voice, everything would be all right.
The operation was a dream, over in one hour. Meanwhile she and I went fishing in her childhood for Norwegian Trouts. She went back home surprised, slept seven hours, then got up hungry and had soup – not a pain in her face she claimed according to her daughter.
I was inspired by Dr. Jack Gibsons memoirs where he stated “I simply explained that if they wanted to avoid pain, all they had to do was relax deeper, the more they wanted to avoid it – and trust me, nobody wants pain – they all went deep”.
